“ Because... Every Raindrop is a Hope” a novel by Sankalp Kohli & Mansi Sharma is their debut novel published by General Press in the month of January 2013. The book has been doing well in the market and also been appreciated by celebrity reviewers and bloggers. Finally I got my chance to have a go at this book and this is how it went.

The concept of the book is quite smile and clear leaving a smile on your face when you are done with the reading. Though the book falls under the romance genre but also acts as an inspirational work for the reader. The story conveys the theme of the book loud and clear i.e. we should never lose hope.

The story shows the blissful journey full of ups & downs, surprises & shocks in the life of protagonist Raj, along with his two friends Rahul and Rohan. The story shows different phases of life of the three friends, exploring things like ragging, love, college politics, betrayal, manipulation, friendship e.t.c.. The characters and the incidents are well described & language is also well written and directed allowing smooth reading. Also the way authors have started every chapter with poetic verses, giving us a hint and preparing for what is about to come, is really commendable. Some of the incidents narrated in the story are outstanding, however, at couple of places, it felt like the story is a bit off track.

Having said that, I would end this review stating that this is one of the the most simple yet effective books I have read after a very long time. I will give this book ☆☆☆☆ (4) Stars and would strongly recommend this book to the youth as this story not only entertains you but also teaches you some very important lessons of life. My best wishes for the authors.

It's always wonderful to see people coming up and getting appreciated from your hometown. This was one of the major reason why I picked up ONE LAST TIME and started reading it. This book is Shubham Arora's second novel published under the banner of Paper Clip Books.

The cover page & the blurb at the back side of the book is quite interesting and intriguing enough to pick the book from the shelves and start reading it. The story is  about the protagonist Ishaan and how he moved on in his life facing its gifts, surprises & shocks. Author has given a realistic approach to the book making it easy for the readers to connect with the characters & situation. The way Shubham has portrayed various emotions throughout the story either of the protagonist or any other character is something very hard to find. The narration style is perfect, without any over stretched scenes & dialogues, unrealistic & boring situations. It seemed like picture perfect.

The book is divided in three parts or better to say in three cities namely AMBALA, DELHI and NEW YORK. It's always been a pain for me in the past, reading a book divided in parts and such division haven't worked well from the narration point of view. But Shubham's writing skills haven't given me any pain while changing from one part to another. He has described each city with its own charming manner & style.

The way protagonist life, his thinking and maturity level changes with time and he grows from a shy kid of Ambala to a mature person and almost after 10 years end up in big city like New York. is commendable. However the third part of the novel i.e. the NEW YORK part felt a bit on the shorter side compared to the previous two parts. The chapters are of normal length making the reading more comfortable and easy to connect with. The climax of the story is wonderful leaving you with endless thoughts about the book and its characters.

In the end, all I would like to write is Shubham Arora has the capacity & skills to be one of the best in the literature industry. With his simple yet powerful & heart-felt language, he has stunned me with this work and I was hooked with the book till the very end. I am really looking forward to his another work of fiction work very soon.

Will give him ☆☆☆☆.25 (4.25) Stars. A wonderful book & if you love Romance genre, I guess you should not miss this. Good Luck to the author.

''The Accidental Apprentice'' by Vikas Swarup was one the books I was eagerly waiting for, in the year 2013. Well to be honest, I had never ever read a book of around 450 pages in matter of 7 hours...

As his previous books, ''The Slumdog Millionaire'' & ''6 Suspects'' Vikas has managed to attract the curiosity of a reader towards this book. The story-line is very strong and gripping which persuaded me to pick the book without giving a second thought. It is a story of a girl Sapna Sinha, who is given an opportunity to become a CEO of a well known corporate group by a stranger, meeting her for the first time, on a condition that she has to pass 7 tests of life.

The story narrates how circumstances forces Sapna to accept the deal of the stranger and faces the challenges, life throws at her from time to time. The story is mix of some past recalls connecting with the present at times, which fits perfectly, all credits to author.

Towards the end, I started expecting what could be the end but then the best part of the book started and I dont know when i completed the last 100 odd pages. The only thought going through my mind as i was reading the story was,''What's next?'' along with a surprise expression on my face each time I turned the page.

The way author has expressed the characters of the book, making every small character playing their important role, the expression of emotions out of them conveys that book has been written with utmost sincerity and straight from heart. As per me one of best book I have read so far and one of the best fiction work written in present time, with a message and more importantly channeling a sense of optimism throughout my mind.
A 5 Star book for me. Cant get better than this. Movie coming soon.

About the book

Picture
From the author of the book behind the blockbuster movie Slumdog Millionaire, a brilliant novel about life changing in an instant.

Life pivots on a few key moments. This is one of them.

Sapna Sinha works in an electronics store in downtown Delhi. She hates her job, but she is ambitious and determined to succeed, and she knows without the money she brings in, her family won't be able to survive. Little does she know it but her life is about to change forever.

As she leaves the shop on her lunch break one day, she is approached by a man who claims to be CEO of one of India's biggest companies. He tells her he is looking for an heir for his business empire. And that he has decided it should be her.

There are just seven tests she must pass. And then the biggest lottery ticket of all time will be hers.

I would start with congratulating Dhanashri Kadam for her Debut Novel. "I Live For You" is story of Shria and Aaditya, to be precise. They both enters into a relationship, despite already being into relationships with two different persons. Say it fate or destiny, incidents happens in their life bringing them closer, as if they were meant to be together. It is a sweet romantic story with a happy ending.

The way Dhanashri described the emotions of the characters and their behavior is outstanding. She tried making the story interesting by prologue which worked on me and I read it but at the end I was disappointed, as author said it was meant to create suspense & interest and was not part of the story. Regular kind of story we see around us now a days, love & breakups. Climax is part is liked the most.

I was taken back by the sudden change in the form of verb. The prologue was described in the First form of the verb while the story shifted to the third form of verb, which was a major flaw in narration.

Due to large dimensions of book, page count is restricted below 150 and can be read in one sitting of couple of hours. Cover page and Blurb of the book is attractive & interesting. Typeset errors are many such as extra space after first line of every chapter and at some other places, disconnecting the flow of lines written.

VERDICT:
A well written story. Will give ☆☆ stars for the story. :) All the very best Dhanashri for your future.

about the book

A story of dreams, love and destiny, I live for you is a tender tale of Shria and Aaditya which will leave a mesmerizing impact on its readers. With breakups and divorces so rampant, I Live for you will surely make the readers think about their relationships again. It could work as a prescription for the broken hearts assures the author. I Live for you is a must read for all the people who believe in love and also who are living their lives for someone. A reader will not merely read it, he will live this book.

The name or the face of the person you love will automatically pop up in front of your eyes promises the author. Missing this book will not be a big issue obviously; however, you will miss the chance of falling in love again. Lets rekindle all those soft memories of the newly in love moments

Let's fall in love with I Live For You which is not just a love story, its the love of a story!!

My life with a Soul is a new concept by the author and quite a good one. The story revolves around Sam, the protagonist and Selda, his Love. Suraj, being a Editor himself has really used his knowledge, skills and imagination power to the extent. The way he portrayed Sam's character, talking to himself and expressing his thoughts in words and that too on a consistence basis is one of the best part of the story. The unconditional love between Sam & Selda is also something worth reading. Despite the differences they had, still they loved each other genuinely. The end of the book is quite painful when Selda leaves him and dies. The quotes he used at the beginning of each chapter acts as magnet attracting reader to Read On.

VERDICT:
A well written story with a unique concept way better than chick-lit stories. Will recommend this book to the readers. Grab a copy if not read yet. Will give ☆☆☆ 1/2 stars :) All the very best Suraj for your future.

Flirting with Fate is the first crime thriller novel by an Indian author I read. Finally a book that ended my streak of searching for an well written book by a female writer. Preeti Mam had very beautifully described Anand's character. The way he does everything to gain victory through destructive methods and yet finding out something good in it to fool his conscious. His search or his ultimate quest to be a Big Man, having everything under his belt, a Beautiful wife, A big house to live and A Car has been defined perfectly by the author. The tagline of the book "Karma Returns" goes well deep with the content of the story. Whatever good or bad deeds we do in our life we have to repay as it is in this birth only. The character of Fluffy, the dog is quite interesting and creative. The part that he too speaks (though no one understand what he wants to say) has been used quite effectively in penning down humor. I wish i had such a dog :P.

The ending part of the book is quite emotional and tragic when Anand starts losing everything he owned or he dreamt to own One by One. The way story ends with twists and turns which i didn't thought of. After completing the book i had a smile on my face and a thought in my mind which was there after a long time. "Will read it again someday."

VERDICT:
Wonderfully written story with an extra-ordinary story line. Will highly recommend this book to the readers. Grab a copy if not read yet.
Will give ☆☆☆☆ 1/2 stars :)

Most unlike her worthy author friends, Preeti Singh is a bindaaas born free woman who just scribbles anything that comes to her mind whether it makes sense or not!!!! Simply because she writes from her heart.without using an ounce of her rarely awake brain!!

Snuggled happily in the lap of the Beautiful City Chandigarh, Preeti Singh has been a freelance writer since the last 15 years till she decided to write a book, before her call comes towards her final journey.

'Flirting With Fate' is her debut crime novel. Why crime?? Well, mysteries and crimes have always lit the fire within her to discover the truth. And with her strong belief in Karma returning, she is simply flowing with words in this novel.

When she's not day dreaming and writingPreeti Singh loves enjoying music, watching movies, nagging her teenage daughter, not entering the kitchen but playing with her dog, Amber Singh, who is an inquisitive and humorous character in this book.

Cover page is attractive and was shocked when i came to know that Neha herself has designed it. The concept of the book is really good and a quite different. The language used is really strong and the character of KILITIKA is well defined. Book is divided into 3 parts, describing three phases of Kili's life. I personally really liked 1st and 3rd part whereas the middle part just didn't go as per my expectations. Poems are used in a perfect way to convey the emotions and feeling at places, loved them alot. The end is quite tragic with couple of surprises. Censored words are used at many places but fits well as the situation and characters demanded those.

VERDICT:
A different story and would recommend it to the readers. Will give 3.5/5 stars. :)

I am very much impressed by Umakant's writing style. He had written this book in simple yet powerful language and the characters are very well defined. The way he has described and outlined the female lead, The Angel, is the best i have read so far. Story is a different from all those chick lits we see these days... On asking Umakant i came to know that this is his own story and completely true. Story gets real emotional and catchy in the other half when everything starts going the wrong way in Tushar's life. Flow of emotions is maintained throughout and reader wont get bored by reading continously. Couple of printing errors  for which nor the publisher or the author can be blamed.

VERDICT:
Overall a very well written book as for a Debutant and would recommend it to the readers...Will give it a 4/5 stars...
